Guest guest
hi can someone point me to info on liver detox and meds. i strongly suspect that my liver h as been adversely affected by meds. i have rheumatoid arthritis so is very difficult to function without them. i had a liver detox profile test by genova 2 weeks ago and am waiting to find out results. in the meantime i am trying to understand how this all works. how do meds mess up our detox pathways? how do i determine if this is the case? and if it is which pathways are adversely affected? then if i determine this, is there anything that can be done about it so meds can be tolerated? i feel caught between a rock and a hard place right now as without meds the pain of the arthritis is intolerable and i can barely move but on them i am so sick i cannot function. now which is these evils do i choose? i need to find a way out of this mess but 1st i need to understand it. thanks monique

And here's a link that might help understand the liver and its phases better. And I'm sure you could google it and get tons of info too.-----------Jackie http://www.tuberose.com/Liver_Detoxification.html i have rheumatoid arthritis so is very difficult to function without them. i had a liver detox profile test by genova 2 weeks ago and am waiting to find out results. in the meantime i am trying to understand how this all works. how do meds mess up our detox pathways? ----------I'm not an expert on this, but mercury messes up the liver, and everything we take, including meds, has to be processed by the liver. So the more meds you take, the more work your liver has to do.----------Jackie how do i determine if this is the case? and if it is which pathways are adversely affected? ---------Hopefully your liver detox test will help to figure this out. It tests four of the phase 2 pathways, if I remember correctly. And check out pages 40-42 of AI, and see if you can make any sense out of it -----------Jackie then if i determine this, is there anything that can be done about it so meds can be tolerated? ----------You can take things to support the different pathways. So if you are low in sulfate, your sulfation pathway won't work as well or fast, so getting/taking more sulfate will help. I know in general that taurine, glycine, milk thistle, and phosphatadylcholine are good for liver support. You can read more at the following link.---------Jackie http://onibasu.com/wiki/Liver_support i feel caught between a rock and a hard place right now as without meds the pain of the arthritis is intolerable and i can barely move but on them i am so sick i cannot function. now which is these evils do i choose? i need to find a way out of this mess but 1st i need to understand it. ------------Hopefully the test results will help and/or you'll find something pertinent in the links I gave you, or in AI. If you aren't taking much for liver support supplements, then I would start there, and try to see if you can identify your med in the charts in AI on pages 40-42. Good luck---------Jackie thanks monique
