Guest guest
Shinola, I can not take simvastin ( Zocor) because of joint and muscle pain.. I was on it for high cholesterol. I went to lipitor. I have never heard of it being used for IPF or helping it. Love and Prayers, Peggy IPF 2004, FloridaWorry looks around, Sorry looks back, Faith looks up. Has anyone out there had simvastin affect the lungs as in IPF? My doctor took me off simvastin nearly a month ago due to muscle and joint pain. I have had IPF for about 2 years and taken simvastin 4-5 years. And if medication is the cause, would the IPF improve by quitting it? Thanks for any replies. Guest guest
My doctor put me on 40 mg of simvastatin about the same time I was originally diagnosed with Interstitial Lung Disease (2006). I started having muscle cramps immediately. I had some prescription quinine sulfate that I would take to get rid of the insidious cramping. My doctor said treating drugs with drugs was not smart. She told me to buy a pill splitter and cut the tablets in half. Since I started doing that I have not had any problems. Simvastatin works very well for me. My husband is on a different statin because his physiology is different.
