Trisha and Hannah and Vicki and Anneliese - happy birthday Josh and

Tim and Hannah and

Jack - 'our Toby' and in our village birthdaying

tomorrow - makes me wonder what proportion of children on the list

relate to Christmas/New Year jollifications and also whether we have a

lot of May babies? (My brother was an August Bank Holiday version,

born 28 May - we were in France the previous year on 28 Aug 1962)

Well I certainly know about the September babies - we are obviously not

planned at all, but just the result of too much excess at Christmas and New

Year ;o))) Of course, I can only comment on my parents (!), but birthdays

this month that I can think of are my dad, grandpa, friend's mum, mine, DH,

granny, MIL, cousin, uncle, BIL, five friends, 3 friend's children... and

that's just in two minutes of thinking while writing this message! Good job

I don't have to buy presents for all of them!

Now, my children all have birthdays within 5 weeks of each other - 16 Feb, 8

March and 23 March.......

I must have said on here before Jack was a Christmas Party baby. I

told DH on New Years Eve at a friends dinner party that I thought I

could be pregnant, and they wanted to know what we were whispering

about!

(July 6th) was a return to work baby. I decided that I really

did not like work after having had a years maternity leave and

decided that they quickest way to leave was to have another baby on

go on maternity leave.

Isaac (June 25th) was a post NCT BBQ - there was a lovely little

newborn baby there and there is now 9 months between them (and they

don't like each other one bit but thats another story).

4th October Baby, daughter of a 8th October mum and a May 3rd father

wife of a 22nd April man!

Well I'm a May baby (24th) not quite an August Bank Holiday baby as I was 11

days late but I think I just missed being a World Cup baby too and my DH is

a March baby (15th) My children are both December babies - 1st (due 16th)

and 31st (due 25th - phew). DH reckons this is because he only gets one

bonk a year - on his birthday (lies, all lies)

Don't know, but my brother and I are 2 years and 5 days apart (he 26th

April, me May 1st), and if we count back, it puts our conception date

at right around out dad's birthday in July. And DS was most likely

conceived on a holiday in early April and born on 1st Jan.

Forgot to say - the DH's birthday theory is blown out of the water with DH

(31/12) as I know he was conceived on 3rd April but nobody believes me.

All right, I'll come clean - no, Tim wasn't a Christmas/New Year " accident " ,

we started " trying " in September (but I have to admit I wasn't trying very

hard!) and it took till Christmas for it to work. Not bad for a reluctant

35 yr old with a retroverted uterus, though.

Anneliese and Toddler Tim who said when he woke up from his nap today

" Cards? More cards, More Birthday, PLEASE " !!!! Lucky I had one present

still unopened!

lol... no May and no Sep birthdays in my family... Phoebe is a Feb baby and

Eloisa a Jan birthday.. " mac " (or Bruce as Phoebe say's it is.......) is due in

December... Dh birthday in January and me March 1st.. My mum is in June as is

MIL and FIL and 2 nephews... (So June is out busy time) and my dad and Sister is

in August... dh's side of the family must have had something happening around

April though as dh and his 2 brothers all had/have their birthday in January and

my BILs 2 boys also do... :o)...

Personally I have aimed for winter babies each time as I really did not want to

be pg over a hot summer ;o)...

Lonnie Phoebe & Eloisa's mama

& expecting a Christmas delivery...

My therapist told me the way to achieve true inner peace is to finish what you

start.

So far today, I have finished 2 bags of chips and a Chocolate cake.

I feel better already.

Hannah - it's as clear as daylight - those Feb/March birthdays show

that their parents weren't constrained to going on holiday during

August by their existing children -

I feel a research paper coming on..

Just as an addition slightly related, my Grandmother remarked to my

mother re. some difficulties with the will of one of her uncles, that

it was a shame her grandparents hadn't joined a golf club instead of

retiring to bed on Sunday afternoons!! (eleven children....*and* the

bride was under age when married - daughter of an artist, those

bohemians you know - quite how under age I hope to discover when I can

manage to break away from my children and newsletter one week soon to

go to Family Records Centre in Londinium)

arive 3 wks early & DD2 10 days early, so ended up as darling buds...!

To cap it all & I have other family birthdays & annivs throughout

May, esp 21st,28th,29th,30th,31st May, our wedd anniv 1st June, and a few

more in June too.I raided Clintons and pre-wrote lots of cards in 91 &

94, I was caught out with DD1, as none of the cards were signed with her

name!

May and June are popular in my family too. My own birthday and my

mum's too (one day apart), are in May. Out of my kids, Sara, Tavya

and Yeshaya are in June, Uri and Tammy in May.

I don't know *why* I went for the May and June dates escept that it's

safely after Passover! Avigayil was born in March, 3 weeks before

Passover and that was really a pain! Zehava was born in January which

was great; no Jewish holidays for *months* on either side!!! :-))

Azariah was born in August 1976... hottest summer for 500 yrs and he

was *very* overdue. Bad idea!
