Guest guest
Here is today's note from LaShaun (incidentally one of the reasons she is such a marvelous aide is that she also has a child with special needs so she knows what a parent wants to hear) Salli And here's the note: Today Putter came into school happy and communicating with full sentences. He says, " Dictionary, My First Incredible Amazing Dictionary, " " Dolphin, " " Diver, and " Daisy. " Our letter for the day was " U " so he continued saying, " Unicorn, " Umbrella, " " Underwear, " and " Uni-street. " GUESS WHAT? Putt joined his front loading group after speech and sat and worked teh entire thirty minutes -- reading and written assignments all completed! Aren't you proud? Mrs. Sarver made an announcement to the class and we all congratulated Mr. Putt -- the very first time this year! Then afterward he lined up without being asked and walked to P.E. with the class. He made it through four transition periods on task without breaks. However, he was exhausted after P.E., and asked me to " Wait a minute. " I gave him a break, and told him the minute was over and he jumped up and joined the class as though he had never stopped. I took him to the lunch room and bought him dolphins, doritos and rice krispie treats. Certainly this day deserves many awards -- he had a hearty appetite -- he ate graham crackers, hamburger [MUST ASK FOR CLARIFICATION ON THAT; THE PUTT HAS NEVER TOUCHED A HAMBURGER TO MY KNOWLEDGE, NO MEAT IN OVER FIVE YEARS], all the crackers and doritos and teh rice Krispie treats and then asked for his apples. He drank his chocolate milk and he had computer time. I've also notice that he growls when he is upset or someone's in his personal space. Did I tell you, I ask him to WARN ME when he wants to take his clothes off and he does. He did become angry about tooth brushing and he goes " LaShaun I want clothes off -- underwear, shoes, socks, pants, shorts, shirt, tie. " I asked him to calm down and stay dressed and he said, " Okay! " That was it, we are making beautiful progress, Salli! [Putter attended a birthday party for a little classmate named Carolynn yesterday; he had a great time.] Carolynn told the class about the party for storytime today and she told us how Putt played peek-a-boo and he knew -- he just laughed and ran over to her, but he didn't say a word! Mr. Putt is just a marvelous young man!

Guest guest
Awwwwwwwwwww.......that is so good. I am jealous. I got a little sticker that said " I had a good day " She has only had one day this year that did not get such a sticker. I wish they would use the communication book that I requested at the beginning of the year. You are lucky....don't forget that.
