Guest guest
Me and my sister, are 9 yrs apart, but I'm May 24th, she's may 25th. Mum always swore there was no reason for it. My eldest sister was conceived on their honeymoon, 2nd sister 3mnths after birth of first, & brother 4 mnths after birth of 2nd sister. I turned up 8 yrs later, result of night out on Guinness and Irish whisky according to Dad. May be the reason why I, m the only one with the Celtic red hair! Mum was 21 when she married having come from Eire at 16 to train as a nurse. No family support available ( Dad's sis was 14 at time and MIL ( 'old b**ch') as far as my Mum was concerned. Mums favourite tale of woe was from when Kids were 3,2 & 1, and Mum got bad Flu, ( unable to lift head off pillow type). Dad had to go to work ( no work no money). Left Mum in bed with huge plate of sandwiches & jug of juice and shut her in bedroom with all 3 Kids!!! Mid-morning Gran arrived and shouted to see where everyone was from downstairs. Mum, thinking her salvation had arrived called back saying she was in bed with Flu and the kids were in the room with her. Gran replied that in that case she wouldn't stop as she didn't want to get IT and promptly left!!! Mum always completed tale with 'she didn't even offer to go buy a loaf of bl**dy bread, b**ch!!) Needless to say things were always a bit tense when Gran was around. I'm still not sure how Mum got by in those early years. Her sanity must have been sorely tested. A friend of mine had her baby 4 wks ago on her 2yr olds birthday. One late the other early. That may cause a few probs later on! Guest guest
DD1 29 April, so nearly May - but she was a fortnight overdue... DS 20 September - well, you have to show willing at Christmas, don't you?! DD 2 3 December - getting apprehensive about going back to work after DS, I think! DH is June (overdue), SIL Sept (on time). FIL is April, MIL November. My Mum is August, Dad Sept, DSis May (prem). The local community midwifery team reckon there is always a bit of a bulge in births in September. At this rate, I'll be contributing to it next year - though rather hoping something might 'take' before then...
