I am hoping someone here will have some info on special schools. I have found

several that deal with the ADHD/ADD and ODD aspect, but the costs are beyond

outrageous..I am seeking some kind of funding or financial assistance. I scoured

my insurance and can't even find a reference to determine if they would cover

anything of this type..even the short term programs..somebody help!!!!

I just looked it up 'Bama isn't a Beckett state but they have

something that sounds similar:

http://www.medicaid.state.al.us/MANUALS/AdminCode/ad_ch_52.htm

What you'll need to do is call your social security office and apply for

SSI. If you have an income above the poverty level, you'll be denied, then

you will apply for this Chapter 52 waiver. Probably have to have an IQ under

70 to qualify. That's not hard to do with an autism diagnosis.

What the waiver does is pay for any therapy, prescriptions or medical care

that your regular health insurance won't cover -- that is if your state has

mental health parity.

This is all very confusing for someone just getting involved, I know.

I'll look around and see what else I can find for you on this.

well, that won't work as has a very high IQ, sigh...I am starting to get

really worried about keeping him here when he is in destructive mode..I mean,

sticking things in electric sockets can start fires..if he is aggressive to the

others, I know he was in bully mode before he left..I just don't know what to

do....I am having to weight the odds of the one against the odds of the other

4..I HATE this
