Guest guest
Hello PJ Hi and thanks for the response. I have been feeling winded (SOB) more so lately (last two months) when I checked it I was winded enough to be a little light headed, and being three stories up on a cat walk not such a good thing. Lol. I walked to the mail box yesterday to check it again and again it dipped to 83 pulse 120 so I sat down and it took about 2 to 3 min to come up and pulse slow down. I call this my denial disease. When I first got my DX I said no way and went on my way for about 6 months then Finally went to Pulmo Doc then about a year later my stats started sliding and again I fought it and just kept going I finally slowed down a bit. The Doc talked me into prednisone so I did that dance for a year with nothing to show for it but about 50 lbs. I told the Doc no more and now I am down to 2 mg and will start on 1 mg tomorrow I have been on the board enough to know that I was starting to have o2 problems but ignored it. No not me. I guess I am talking to the doc next month about that. So here I am on the island waiting to deny my next step on my journey lol Take care Walt on Whidbey IPF,Nsip.Uip. 06 Courage doesn't always roar. It sounds like your sats are ok when you are sitting but when you do something like walk up a flight of stairs they drop below 90. That's what you don't want. When do you next see the doctor? If you don't have an appointment coming up in the next few weeks you should probably schedule one. It worries me that you say you can't use oxygen at work. I understand wanting to keep your health issues private but you also don't want to endanger yourself in the process. Since DX I have tried to make the most out of everything. On another note, I need to ask for some advice, Listing to manly Bruce and Beth I bought an pulse oximeter(thank you, I think). So I got it Saturday and gave it a try it read o2 88 pulse 102 so I quickly put it away. I dug it out today at work Sitting I am o2 90 to 95 with pulse from 80 to 91 walking up stairs and down at work I am 87 o2 with 102 pulse. Work does not know I’m sick and I wont be able to use o2 at work I know the #'s are lower then they have been at the doc 4 months ago with my 6 mw. Here is my question! What am I looking at?????? I am a little freaked out. I have been hesitant to say anything here because so many people are much worse off but not sure where else to turn.Thank you Walt on Whidbey IPF,Nsip.Uip. 06 Courage doesn't always roar. Guest guest
Hi Walt, We all have been at the "NOT ME" place. The problem is the damage we do to our other organs. When your saturation goes down your heart rate goes up because your heart has to work harder to make the oxygen/gas exchange.. Not a good thing to do to our hearts. I am so sorry you have such a bad case right now of the denial bug. Please take care of you. Light headed on a catwalk is not good. I do hope you talk to your Dr. soon about 02.God Bless you.
