Guest guest
I saw the nurse at the pulmodude's today. They wanted to get current documentation of my need for O2. (ins. co. says I don't need it.) After walking down the hallway and back, my SAT was 91. She says " well, your SAT isn't dropping down enough. " I told her that I felt it wasn't a realistic eval. She asked what I thought would drop my SAT. I told her we should go outside. I no sooner got outside and walked 10 feet down the sidewalk. My SAT dropped to 87. I told her that after a shower if I don't use the O2 while showering, my SAT goes to 80. She's reporting back to pulmodude. She says they believe I do need the O2 and will write whatever the ins. co. needs to keep me on it. I still don't feel completely confident with this pulmodude. But, I've decided to wait until after the symposium in Boston before I make any decisions as far as changing. Guest guest
Nan, Great job insisting on a more thorough evaluation of your O2 needs. A little stroll down the hall, just doesn't cut it. The insurance guidelines are probably similar to Medicare's. These docs offices know what to write so it will go through. Hopefully you won't have any more problems!
