Guest guest
Hi, This is Mike from Finland, I posted a couple of times in June. To make a long story short I ended up at Duke under the care of Dr Noble. I had a biopsy done Monday. The results are that I do not have PF. Dr Noble says things are consistent with an autoimmune disease. I'm now on CellCept and Methylprednisolone Sodium Succinate. I get out of the hospital Sunday or Monday. Ill be here another 2-4 weeks. I'm really impressed with the care I've received here. Thanks, Mike

Guest guest
Hello Mike, I am so glad you found your way to Duke. Wish I knew you were there, I was just at Duke yesterday for my appointment with Dr. Noble. I was referred to him two years ago and it has been a very good experience. You will definitely do good under his care - he is so knowledgeable, compassionate and understanding. He is always ready to respond to your questions- there are no comments from him that he will have to research an answer. Where are you going to stay while you are at Duke? Get plenty of rest - feel better - Dorothy Reinecke, Fayetteville, GA 66; VATS 7/05; UIP 7/05 To: Breathe-Support Sent: Friday, August 21, 2009 4:52:44 PMSubject: Un-Lurker at Duke Hi,This is Mike from Finland, I posted a couple of times in June. Guest guest
Mike, I'm do happy to hear your good news!! I've been thinking of you since I got your email and wondering how you were doing. Did they say no fibrosis at all? Or no IPF? I have an autoimmune condition also as do many of us here. I'm so glad that they have been able to give you some more definitive information. Please keep us posted. Are you going back to Finland after you are discharged from Duke? If you want to have a cup of coffee or lunch before you leave, please don't hesitate to call me. I believe you have my cell #. Good luck! Guest guest
Mike So glad you have had such good treatment. While I know there are still lots of people who have PF and are not being diagnosed correctly with it, I'm starting to see a wave of doctors diagnosing people with PF where its very questionable or based on very limited information. For instance, I've seen diagnoses based just on chest xray and not even a CT. I'm glad you got to Duke so they could correctly diagnose you. > > Hi, > > This is Mike from Finland, I posted a couple of times in June. Guest guest
Mike, I'm glad you are going to be around for a bit yet. You are just getting out of the hospital tomorrow... are you up on 7800? I was there in May for 4 days when I had H1N1 flu. Since you're going to be around for a few weeks yet, why don't you give yourself some time to recuperate and then give me a call when you feel up to getting together. Take it easy and be good to yourself!
