Guest guest
Hellow all air friends, Just wanted to let you know that tomorrow is my 2nd anniversary of my lung transplant. I am doing well although my swimming and PT exercises in the water at the YMCA do tire me out; but it is making me stronger. Today I actually swam 10 lengths of the pool stopping at each end to take a few deep breaths but swim rather fast on my back and use flippers. For those of you how have PF I was told before my transplant to not swim because the water could put too much pressure on my lungs. I tried a couple of strokes one time anyway and discovered the PT Therapist who told me that was correct. Now I do swim 2 or 4 lengths with my face forward but do the rest on my back. On my back I can do my breathing exercises, the purse breathing. So I do recommend swimming on your back. We are having a little cooler weather this weekend which pleases me. Hope you all have a good weekend. Aloha, Judy (Ohio) IPF 11/06 TX 8/
