Guest guest
Thanks to everyone who responded to my post about NAC and the other meds. Having been stable for so long, since 1998, and now to have this disease excelerate has taken a toll on my emotions. I could pretty much ignore the gradual decline in my health up to this point and am so grateful for the healthy times that I have had. Since this is a familial problem I know what to expect...My age has never bothered me, but like all of you, had plans that extended beyong 3-5 years.....It's easy to say, but hard to try and live each day with a positive outlook with all the looms in the distance. I am committed to learning as much as I can about this disease, and openly frustrated with the slow progress of research. It does appear that much more research is being done, or at least we hearing more about the research and that in itself is encouraging. I have a pulmonary stress test today to determine if I can do pulmonary rehab. Since I have always been very active I am looking forward to learning how to cope with my SOB episodes. Again, thanks to all of you who are willing and able to share your experiences. It has been so helpful to know that I am not alone.
