My therapist told me the way to achieve true inner peace is to finish what you

start.

So far today, I have finished 2 bags of chips and a Chocolate cake.

Is that the stuff that costs about #7 a tube and is packaged in purple??? I

found it really difficult to put on because it was so thick in texture so

I've stuck with Kamillosan this time.

yes Jenni it is the stuff in purple.. I found it quite easy if you just " knead "

it a little with your fingers first.. kamillosan did nothing for me first time

around so I never bothered with it again.. funny as my sil just loves it and

says it saved her breastfeeding with both her kids..

Really? Whereabouts is this? Just interested, I thought no one in the

UK stocked it. Maybe it's beginning to be available.

Um yes but it shouldn't be *that* thick; everyone I have sold

it to manages to get it on fine...maybe a rogue batch? 7 quid a tube?

Is that the big 2 oz tubes? Undercutting going on! Where did you get

it at that price? :-))

It would either have been a local pharmacy or boots, 'normal' sort of size

tube (IFKWIM?), can't really remember because it was when I was first BF

Mari. Strange thing is I don't remember what I did with the rest of the

tube either, might still be in the bottomless pit I call a bathroom cabinet

- must have a look later :)

Darn, that's my business venture going down the tubes !! :)

Just kidding, I don't mind. I only bought some in for my own local

women who can't seem to get it anywhere else.

Well it has had all the impurities and gunge taken out, and it says

it's perfectly PH balanced to the same as human skin so I think it

should be OK. Not going to stick my neck out though, in case you are

one of the few! :) Try a skin patch test maybe?

A few months back I saw it in *Mothercare* of all places (Leamington)

I don't think they have it there now though.

I was told to smear my nipples with breastmilk *before* feeds, the

rationale that it would lubricate them and reduce risk of trauma.

I've not heard it anywhere before or since. And I did get a cracked

nipple the first time despite the world and his wife confirming the

wondrousness of my positioning at every feed. My theory is that

although I took him off immediately and in approved fashion if the

latch wasn't right, he had a very powerful suck and that brief time

was enough. DS2 didn't have anything like the sucking power. Only

figured this out when LLL leader meeting us for the first time (DS1

about 7 months) said " I bet he's a strong sucker "

I do wonder about this business of " all pain is due to faulty

positioning " since we know (well, I certainly do!) that feeding at

times of ovulation and pregnancy can make your nipples sore.

(This appears to be a two chilli post Ruthie - and my other one about

chilli ratings now has none!)

Absolutely true for me - it's what made me realise how easy it was to

tell when I was ovulating (that, and really bad ovulation pain).
