I washed the car, bought new clothes (even though they didn't fit), took a late shower, dropped Jacqui off at my friends house at 4:15 and dh was ready to go at 4:30. Right on schedule. We had planned to be out until about 10pm. We had 5:15 reservations at a place called Olives. An upscale restaurant at the Bellagio Hotel on the strip, overlooking the Fountains. The food was FANTASTIC and I indulged in two Espresso is.....what a great beginning to our evening. We had two tickets to see Jerry Seinfeld at the Colluseum (Celines new place) for what we thought was 7:30. We took a leisurely walk (even though my shoes were KILLING me), from The Bellagio to Caesar's. Dh dropped $5 on poker and then we decided to go in. We get to the ticket taker, she scan's our tickets, has a quizzical look on her face, then says: THESE TICKETS ARE FOR TOMORROW NIGHT!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HHHH !!!!!!! How do you all think things went from there? Do you know how hard it is for us to get out ONE night, let alone TWO? I kept my cool at first but was seething inside. I went to the ladies room to call my friend to tell her what happened and that we would be home soon to get Jacqui. Luckily she offered to take Jacqui tonite, but I did not tell dh that. When I came out he said " Will watch her tomorrow night? " I said " I don't know, I guess your going to have to work it out. " He said " Why does it all fall on ME? " WHAT??? WHAT???!!!! Could it be that *I* am the one who always makes the plans? Could it be that HE TOLD ME he bought tickets for the 2nd? Then he had the audacity to tell me " Well you've been holding the tickets for 2 months " . NO!! Not true. I didn't even LOOK at the tickets. Why should I? If I would have questioned the dates, he just would've gotten defensive. He really doesn't get it. He gave me a fleeting apology later on. I think I'll shall make him continue to pay until after tonite. Penny :-( ~Accept what nature provides and celebrate the differences~ April IS Autism Awareness Month! Guest guest
I remember once when n was younger, my dh gave me tickets to the symphony for my birthday. While I understand that it was a good idea in his mind, I was secretly livid - - like I'm gonna wave my magic wand and conjure up a babysitter out of thin air (no friends, family, or contacts whatsoever in a new city at the time, strangely the city isn't new anymore and we still have no friends, family, or contacts, but I digress) In the end I was able to reschedule the symphony tickets to coincide with a time when his mother would be visiting. So will you get to go? Guest guest
**waving hand wildly** I'm from MA. :-) I took the long road. Moved back and forth fromMA to AZ several times in my 20s and 30s, and then while in AZ, met dh, originally from KY, and then we moved here. ellen Re: OT: How to ruin a date OR grounds for divorce well most of the night sounded good. Guest guest
Yup! Gloucester and Rockport make up Cape Ann. :-) ellen Re: OT: How to ruin a date OR grounds for divorce >>I grew up and lived in Gloucester<< Is that the North Shore by Cape Anne? Beautiful area. The ocean (water in general) was that the thing I missed the most when we lived in CO. However the Rocky Mountains are quite nice to see out your window also. I too am glad we are around family while raising the boys. Warm Regards & ASD 11/25/00 in Maine OT: How to ruin a date OR grounds for divorce Last night's plans were heavenly!
