Guest guest
Stage 4 is never good but remember to factor in the good. Where liver mets are operable the 5 year survival rates are a factor of ten-approx- than if for non operable stage 4 and that is using old data from the days before we had new chemo drugs such as avastin.Being operable normally means just a few nodes in one lobe and no mets to other parts of the body. If you had to have stage 4 you have it in the best possible survival location. Bottom line-stage 4 aint was it used to be-good luck

Guest guest
Hi Jeff: Welcome to the group. I'm a newbie here too and have found that the members are great! I was originally diagnosed with Stage III (w/ 2 lymph nodes affected) and had my colon resected in 6/04. I had six months of chemo after the first surgery. Found liver mets 5/05; surgery done for liver mets 7/05 and no follow-up chemotherapy. Going for my CT scan on December 12th and am hoping it comes back clean. Good luck and I would like to know what alternative treatments you are considering. Sue > > MY Name is Jeff > > I am new to this group. I was diagnosed on 10/25/05.
