Guest guest
My dd has just developed vertical raised lines some having a white appearance on her toenails but not her fingernails. I read that it may be from zinc or iron deficiency. Is this true? Why just her toenails? Does anyone know of anything else that may cause this? As per the DAN! she presently takes Pro EFA, E, C, (D, A in Cod liver oil), B1, B2, B3, B6, B12, Calcium Magnesium, Selenium, Zinc Picolinate & a good probiotic. Thank you for your help. Guest guest
So the Dan thinks it is not a metal issue (gravity...see what I mean). Me and mine have alopecia arreata which is an autoimmune thing but could be caused by metal and nails are involved though the docs only look at fingernails. Since most do not know it well I believe they neglect the toes out of ignorance. Nails with issues can be a yeast thing as well and the vertical line thing makes me wonder but you need a pro to look at this. > > My dd has just developed vertical raised lines some having a white > appearance on her toenails but not her fingernails. > I read that it may be from zinc or iron deficiency. Guest guest
Not true. Trust me. I am Irish, celiac, and have yeast-related nail issues and most docs don't know toenails until after the antifungal fixes what they thought was not fungus. A dermatologist may know but it just depends. If genetic it could be dietary so it still has a fix. > > > > My dd has just developed vertical raised lines some having a white > > appearance on her toenails but not her fingernails. > > I read that it may be from zinc or iron deficiency.
