Guest guest
Hi Jane: Sorry to hear you are so sick. Please keep me posted on your travel plans. I am finishing my 12th chemo session the week of January 9th. I would love to meet you and help you out with anything you need. I should be Ok by Jan. 14th - one week after my first day of chemo. Do you have someone to go to USC with you to see Dr. Lenz? If you want me to go with you, I will. I graduated from USC many years ago and worked in downtown LA for 20 years. I am suffering with my chemo but yours sounds even worse. I don't know how you can move with all of this going on. In a message dated 12/12/2005 9:00:46 A.M. I ended up twice having to go for ivs. I am trying to move but coud not pack being so sick. I will restart once I get to CA. My plane reservation is for Jan 7th. Too busy paciking this year to do Christmas. I now have to eat 6 small meals a day. If I eat a big meal my stomach can not empty and I throw up. This is a real pain but seems to be working. I guess the tumor in my duodenum is a bit bigger and slows the movement of food. I am drinking Boost at least once a day since I am now losing weight. I do have an appt. at USC with Dr. Lenz on Jan. 19th. I am excited about that. Maybe they can do something for the tumor. It is good to read these posts gives me an idea of what lies ahead. Have a blessed day. Jane
Guest guest
Hi , Congratulations on doing 12 sessions of chemo. That is quite a feat. I did not like the oxaliplatin but the irinotecan seemed to cause me more problems. I am off it right now until I move. I do not know if this is a good idea because I am having some discomfort in my liver area and hoping nothing is growing. I will be just north of Santa Barbara. I am going to call on Mon. and get an appt at the SB cancer center so I can restart some chemo. Then my appt with Dr. Lenz is on the 19th. I think my brother is going to take me. I am moving there so I am with family. My closest family right now is 5 hours away. Too far for help with the chemo side effects. I will let you know when I do finally arrive in CA.
