It's a perfect list to my mind. DS2 (just two) had his baby of course (from my parents - the Baby Bath Doll from ELC BTW - a good one for us bottlephobics :-)) He had a very attractive xylophone from Planet Baby but unfortunately it is unacceptably unmusical - we're not expecting perfection, but it doesn't sound as good as those in houses we visit - bad enough we can't bear to listen to it, so that's going back. DH also insisted on buying him an ELC remote control car. He *does* like it, but since it is a more appropriate toy for a child of DS1s (or DHs!) age, I wish he hadn't. -- jennifer@... Some of my friends were in raptures about a lovely wooden xylophone that someone donated to our playgroup. It looks great and is wood and should last forever, classic, etc etc. However, you can’t even play Hot Cross Buns on it, it’s so a-musical. I got Calvin a plastic and metal little tikes one for his 1st birthday and he’s still just banging on it at 20 months, but I can play songs on it, which is what counts, right? Phyllis (Not all that musical, but used to try to be) (and eagerly soaking up the tips on 2nd birthday gifts!) __________________________________________________
