I was looking for something in particular from people who take this

drug. I was on Imuran.

My doc was adamant about how I care for my pet rats. She warned me

that any scratch that could easily be infected be treated at ER as soon

as possible. She was so serious about the poop being breathed and dust

from litter....she preferred that I not have my babies! They scratch me

easily 'cause they have tiny little nails...well, anyway - I guess I

have to take lots of precautions ....

So, has anyone experienced being easily infected and having to go to

ER for tx? Did your docs give you serious warnings like mine did?

Thanks...Joy

don't know about rats

transplant doc said dogs are ok, but avoid cats - something to do with litter box

of course no birds

and reptiles (not sure about all reptiles) may have salmonella on their skin

[starting to get better with laptop keyboard -- yeah Joyce!]
