Arthritis feeling in fingers during chelation

Does anybody ever develop an arthritic feeling/painful stiffness in their

fingers during chelation sessions? I have found this to be case during my

last few rounds of DMSA 15mg (not on ALA yet). It improves within a day

after the round is over.

Any similar experiences and advise anyone?

Hi Jaco

I had this towards the end of my chelation. It alerted me to thyroid

problems.

When your temperature drops often the enzymes in your joints stop working as

well, and of course the body temperatures are controlled by your thyroid.

What are your temperatures? Make sure you have a proper thermometer.

I have also heard from some that when the use too much calcium it hurts

their finger joints.

Can also be the increase acid from say ascorbic acid.

You should thus consider if it is one of three options:

1) Metabolic stress from thyroid stress during chelation (and of course the

adrenals need to be considered).

2) Increased acid due to Vit C ascorbic acid) or other acid causing

supplements in your regular chelation dose. (of course Andy wants the DMSA

to be compounded with something acidic). Increased Candida during a round

will raise acid levels I believe.

3) A specific supplement, usually a mineral excess.

My temperature is indeed too low and I am currently on T3 treatment

('s Temperature Syndrome treatment) for past week and a bit, as well

as cortisol for adrenal insufficiency (helps a lot with brain fog and energy

levels) for the last month or so, which together have lifted my temperature

quite a lot already. My temperature was however 36.2C (97.16F) average even

when I started with DMSA two months ago (now around 36.7C (98.06F)) and I

did not get the arthritis. It only started about three weeks ago.

Also, I do not take calcium supplements, only lots of magnesium + tons of

vitamins and herbs, but I have been doing this for the past year without any

joint pain developing.

I take 2 times 2 softgel omega 3 capsules daily.

This leaves only the possibility of excess ascorbic acid, however then why

would the problem only really surface especially notably during recent

chelation rounds (I still take between 5 to 10 grams of Vit C even between

rounds, though far less acidic tasting than the powder in the capsule).

Would it help if I then consumed lots of alkaline stuff, like a glass of

celery juice every so often?

Any further comments welcome please.

Regards

Jaco

I think my most pressing concern however is to know whether the pain will

eventually completely resolve as chelation progresses, as it started aching

earlier on during the rounds every time. First time only after 48 hours,

next time after about a day and a bit and now from several hours after

starting the round. I would therefore not like it to eventually reach a

stage where it gets triggered by the slightest sulphur substances or acidic

foods.

Did your arthritis eventually resolve completely, Dean and Jen?

If you are using DMSA it might be beneficial to have some

kidney support herbs. The mercury is excreted through out kidneys

when chelating with DMSA.. and through our livers with the ALA.

If you keep them balanced the body would remain more

alkaline.. I have one combination of kidney tonic herbs that I

have found very helpful. Nettle tea is one of the best ----

not too bad tasting and depeindwhere you live you may even

have some in your backyard. I found a patch this year and was

able to dry some.. If not it is a common herb and often is

found at health food stores or if you have a bulk herb store

they could get it for you..
