Guest guest
I know iron needs C for absorbtion, but could I be taking too much C with my iron? I *was* taking 2g of C morning and night but I need (seriously) at least 200 mg of iron a day. Sometimes 300mg. I have the esophogeal ring thing when low in iron and if I take any less than that, I bottom out on iron in a few days. Someone said once that maybe because of the mercury my body is maxed out on free-radicals and won't store it. I'm just wondering if I'm having problems absorbing iron because I'm taking it with so much C. I've recently cut back to 1g 2x a day and I drink juice throughout the day. How much juice is the equivalent of 1g of C do you think...? I realized tonight that I should be taking my C like any other chelator, in divided doses throughout the day. That might make a difference. But C doesn't chelate iron, right? What *does* C chelate? I know it's not good in combination with things like novacaine...If it does chelate iron, why do we take it in combination with iron?
