Guest guest
Len: I am so happy for you that you have your port. Did you get the cream to put on to numb the area before you go in for chemo on Tuesday? If not, call on Monday and have your oncologist call it into the pharmacy. You won't regret the port. It is painless. In a message dated 12/16/2005 7:56:27 P.M. Pacific Standard Time, lowenco@... writes: Len, That is great that you had the port put in. Guest guest
The worst part of chemo for me was when they inserted the needle into my port-it hurt. Near the end of the treatment I learned about freeze sprays. With the freeze spray I could not even tell when they put the needle in-that allowed me to stop acting like a child afraid to get a shot
Guest guest
, Thank you for reminding me. I talked to the nurse at surgery and she said she would have the surgeon write a prescription but I guess she must have forgot. I will get on it Monday. Guest guest
I got the cream before I started chemo, kept forgetting to use it. Got used to the needle insertion. Nurse would go, say 1, 2, 3 and take a deep breath and she would insert the needle. Twinged a bit but wasn't that bad. It was over in a second. Each person's tolerance to pain is different, and some other rather minor things bother me that wouldn't bother someone else.
