Guest guest
This post is to correct a mistake I made in a previous post > > Hello all, > > can someone tell me something about the calcium-magnesium ratio (2:1) ? > > I couldn't find anything about that in AI. Guest guest
Just recently I learned that the typical ratio is 2:1 (calcium:magnesium), and that you really shouldn't take calcium without magnesium. I didn't know that you can OD on magnesium, and since, at the time I found this out, I was downing TUMS for acid reflux, I was taking the appropriate amount of magnesium with it --- oh, man, MAJOR diarrhea for days! Don't take too much magnesium lol Also, I discovered that taking my Tri-salts alleviated the acid stomach by helping balance the acid/pH, so I no longer use TUMS : Donna

For chelation, Mg is on the absolutely necessary list. and that you really shouldn't take calcium without magnesium. Also, many people react when they first start to supplement Mg and need to start low and increase the dose very gradually.
