Guest guest
Hi. That's quite a report. I'll add mine, which is nowhere near as remarkable. When I was a kid I got exposed to herpes, perhaps as a product of vaccine exposure (a dozen in some 3 months). These viruses are known to " burn themselves out " and this one seemed to. My last cold sore was when I was 23. I remember it well and it had been preceded by a long time without one. More than 20 years later, on my first round of chelation, guess what? Another one! It didn't show up again until ... due to a relative being sick, I couldn't chelate for about 5 months. I started up chelation and - there it was again. Not only that, but it appeared in the exact same spot on my lip. The symptoms described below occurred just hours after my very last dose of my fifth round of chelation... " I woke shortly after midnight with a deep aching, cramp in my right > shoulder, in the upper latissmus, near the neck. My quad muscles also > felt unusually inflammed and if I even began to stretch any sore > muscles, they began to cramp. > The right shoulder is the site of a work-related overuse injury so > soreness and stiffness there is not uncommon. What was uncommon was > the degree of discomfort and nerve involvement. It was as if a deep > burning ache in my shoulder was pulsing up nerve pathways throughout > my body but especially to my stomach and brain. The pain was not so > much sharp, but deep and pervasive, so much so that it made me > nauseous at times. " > OMG!!!! What a hell night! > Has anyone using DMPS experienced anything like this before? > I think the cramping, spasming in the shoulder may have caused acute > irritation along the path of the cranial nerve CN XI which runs all > the way down to the stomach and up into the brain. It was pretty scary. This previous post went on to describe some other stuff that went on as well (gastric discomfort). The reason for today's post is that I have had a second, more severe episode of the nerve pain I described above. This time also in the shoulder, but now the left shoulder. Also occurring at the end of a round of chelation (seventh round, fifth day of five, DMPS 12.5 @ 6AM - 2PM - 10 PM. As before my symptoms were at their most acute about 2-3 hours after a dose of DMPS and have been slooowwwly improving as I get farther away from the dose time. One difference, this time I have positively identified the problem as post-herpetic neuralgia aka PHN. Look it up on the shingles-PHN Yahoo group. I had a shingles episode, pretty mild, without much if any nerve pain about 3 years ago. Yesterday, I felt the chickenpox like blisters try to pop out in several locations, there was tenderness, some swelling, itching but no blister formation. This time, when I was awoken early this morning unable to find a comfortable sleeping position, due to this radiating nerve pain, I realized immediately that this was related to the tenderness under my arm and the hive like symptoms I had experienced last night. Further research turned up this description of PHN " The pain may start during an acute rash of herpes but the main problem is pain that persists after the herpes rash has gone. Common symptoms of Post-Herpetic Neuralgia include a constant deep pain, with repeated stabs, or needle pricking pain. " I post this for your general information but also because the two incidences of this very uncomfortable, debilitating condition both occurred while chelating. The first time the symptoms steadily diminished as I got farther away from my last dose of DMPS. Too soon to tell for sure, but I am not going to take my 10 PM final dose of DMPS because the farther away I get from my 2 PM dose the better I feel. It is common knowledge that the herpes family of viruses are opportunistic, they lurk in your system and " go symptomatic " when the immune system is depleted. Is chelation by definition hard on the immune system? I assume so, but you know what they say about assumming!
