Pat, thank you for the message. :) He is still having the side

effects down there, but we are both so very happy chemo/radiation is

finished. We plan on celebrating on Saturday. Just our kids and us,

eating dinner together and cutting a cake. This is as exciting as it

gets. ROTFL

Take care. Prayers for all~

Donelle, thank you for encouraging us. By my saying things are not

great but ok, I guess I was referring to the checkups, exams, tests,

and scans that will be constantly reminding us that something is not

right. I was being whiny wasn't I? Forgive me? LOL

Jumping in here, Jolene... I didn't get Deb's post...probably get it

tomorrow!!! Damn Yahoo!! LOL

Deb... I didn't think you were whining, but if you were, like Jolene said,

that is permissible amongst us!!! The checkups, exams, tests, scans and

daily routine that reminds us that something is not right really, really,

really

gets to be annoying and time-consuming....worthy of whining, I might

add...maybe even bitching!!! Just try to count your blessings and " be

thankful " you

are still able to do these things!!! Thanks for the prayers, as always!!

  • 2 weeks later...

I haven't posted much. Since my Sam's finished his chemo and radiation, we had

our little family celebration. Dinner and cake. But the happiness lasted just a

few hours. Sam gets so upset, angry very easily. He is still in a lot of pain.

At the two weeks checkup the radiation oncologist said the effects could last

for twenty days. So we are waiting again. haha

Just recently he told me that cold water hurt his hands. I said why is it

bothering you now? He said it always bothered him, he just never mentioned it! I

did not mention side effects to him because I know how suggestive the mind is. I

didn't want to give him any thoughts to worry about. So I guess he had all the

side effects that everyone talks about, but he never mentioned some of them. The

only thing is he did not lose very much of his hair. I wasn't worried about hair

loss because he is bald on top. I teased him before his chemo and radiation

began that he didn't have any hair to lose. He just laughed. The good old days

when my husband used to laugh. ::sigh::

Please pray for us, everybody. Thanks. Hope you are all doing better. My

prayers are for all of you. I know what you are going through. Not exactly, but

pretty close. My heart aches especially for the new members and their families,

because they are scared in all this. Don't worry, the process is painful, but

you have to fight this disease. Don't give up. God bless.

Take care,

Hi, everyone. Welcome new members; sorry you have this dreaded

disease. Those who had good news recently, we share your joy. Those

who are hurting, we share your pain. Phil and Glenn, God bless you

and give you comfort. May God give your wife, children and families

patience to endure this. To those who are suffering silently, we

pray for you, too.

We are all just taking it day by day. It seems a lot of our dreams

have been dashed. But there's no time to feel sorry. We just have to

go with what we have.

Now that Sam's surgery, chemo and radiation are over, maybe things

will be ok. Not great, but ok. Thank you for your prayers. We are

praying for all of you. Take care.

Deb, I am Praying for Sam and your family.

It is understandable that Sam gets irritable. The stress of this

and the treatments and being tired will do this. It will get better.

he will start to feel better and his moods will improve. Love, Ingrid
