Guest guest
Hi All, Just had a wonderful lunch with Gwynne. She is absolutely amazing ! We gabbed for three hours and I could have gabbed for several more but had to get back home for grandkid activities. She probably has sore ears because I have a tendancy to talk just a wee too much lol. It is so incredible to think she is walking around without a hose and looking fantastically healthy. She is a walking testament to the wonders of lung transplant. Every time I meet someone from our group in person I wonder what they will be like and if their online personality will match with the real person, but Gwynne is exactly how she is online, a warm, beautiful, charming, elegant, and intelligent lady. I am now lucky enough to join the Bruce and Elisa club and say I have met her. She took the picture so you will have to wait till she posts. R. Guest guest
Thats so great. Gwynne was the first I ever met. Now, oddly enough, even though she was in a transplant group at UTSW I was her first PF'er. I always will think of her as my mentor and inspiration. She was much further along than I was but still making the most and doing things to enjoy life. I've said before, but my first trip after diagnosis I had a million reasons to back out of. But, I'd met Gwynne for lunch not long before and just felt that seeing what she did, I couldn't make excuses. I know that had I made them for the first trip, I would have continued and never lived the past two years as I have. Since then many others have inspired me to keep going. She's also the only person I've ever met before and after transplant. If one wants proof of miracles I saw it before my eyes. When you eat lunch with someone on 10-15 lpm and then the next time they aren't on oxygen at all, you notice. But one thing never changed, not as she deteriorated nor after the transplant. She remained the same incredible woman throughout. > > Hi All, > Just had a wonderful lunch with Gwynne. She is absolutely amazing ! Guest guest
Bruce, I have only been in the group for a month or so I don't know everyone's situation. I read all the posts constantly and give thanks that I found all of you - the information shared is just priceless. Did you have a transpant? When/where? When did Gwynne have her transplant?
