Guest guest
Dorothy I was on Elavil (Amitriptylin) for eight years but now most doctors prescribing for sleep prefer to go away from the tricyclic antidepressants toward the current sleep meds. Still it did work for me for a while. Symbicort is generally prescribed for Asthma or COPD patients. Do you have either of those as well? It seems to work well for obstructive lung diseases. It may also be used for those with recurring bronchitis issues. Be aware that it also has a corticosteroid as one of its ingredients in addition to the bronchodilator. So it should be considered when thinking of your total steroids being used. > > I've been on symbicort for over a year. Do any of you use it? I'm also on amitriptylin that i take @ night. Is anyone on that? >
Guest guest
Dorothy, I've never used Symbicort but I have used Advair which has a similar steroid in it. At the time I was using Advair my doctor wanted to get the steroid directly into my lungs to reduce any inflammation and help get rid of my cough. Is it possible that is what your doctor is trying to accomplish also? Do you by any chance have something like asthma or emphysema? Symbicort can be used to treat those also.
