Guest guest
Well if Joe lives in Austin, hmmm I don't want to sound maudlin but I could be checking the obits. I would say check the phone book for his phone number. But I don't know if he wants us to intrude into life right now. His CEA numbers were always sky high, and he did sort of infer this testing was pretty much his last resort. There comes a time when one has to recognize the signs and just go with the flow. My heart goes out to him and his family. What a fighter he has been. God Bless him Jolene
Guest guest
Well I signed the guest book at the Statesman obit site for him . Will surely miss him.. I never did send the card, so now have to re- do it and send it to the family. Saw my surgeon today to make an appt to make an appt for the scope. Sounds a bit redundant doesn't.. So it goes... go in tomorrow morning. Also have to get the blood and pick up the good stuff for the prep... I can hardly wait LOL... Got to try and schedule it for a Friday so daughter Laurie can come with me. Golly they promised us some cooler weather but now they don't call it a cool front but a weather something or other.. It might cool off over the weekend but warm back up again. Well all I care is that it doesn't RAIN that first weekend in Nov. I will be in Austin at our Festival.. It can be cool but not hot. Last year it was nice very afternoon very warm... I am going to change my mail from digest to getting each message again. I am missing too much with the digest... Take care all Cheers Jolene
Guest guest
I don't understand why they don't give you guys and gals the Visicol tablets. I will say they are huge and if you don't swallow them right down they are not exactly umm tasty but after getting the hang of them it was a darn site easier than the gallon thing. Phil uses the Fleet phospho soda stuff and when chased with soda or juice it isn't too bad. The soda (sprite) helped me clean out fast. It seems to be cooling off faster this year and being near the lake and with all the strange weather this year I am anticipating that the winter here will be colder and snowier than last year. It is often harder to figure out here in Erie as you have to figure both the lake and our Mid Atlantic position. If the storm comes from the North Western Great Lakes like Michigan and Superior east to us it's usually bad. but if it comes from the South it can be ANYTHING !!! As Erie natives say Don't like our weather FEAR NOT it will change! Guest guest
So many like that have been lost! Most of you were not here when was with us but he was a lot like that too. New people would come on and he would gently guide them through the early days and help empower them with knowledge and his own personal strength. It is easy for us to ask WHY and feel that they died in vain. While I can't argue that they should not died of this damned disease. and Joe certainly did not die in vain! They fought the good fight and gave/give every one of us the strength to go on. The way they lived and died taught us lessons about life and relationships, what is important and what is not. Cancer is mostly awful but it is also a great equalizer. It doesn't give a damn whether you are male or female young old rich poor black white red yellow or purple, gay or straight, Christian Jew Muslim pagan or nothing at all. If all of us are equal and joined in this damned disease then why do separate ourselves in the rest of our lives? Ahh maybe there in lies the only true good we can gain from all this. To love one another while we share our lives together in whatever circumstances we find each other. Narice

Guest guest
There was Joe Sullivan...was that all the Joe's? Besides " JO lene " ....LOL It must have been Joe Savage that sent me a photo of his daughter and he in Hawaii when we were having Glenn's party....I wish I had those old emails that he wrote to me, b/c it was all about how wonderful his daughter was....and how much fun they were having....she might like to see them, but they are gone, gone, gone. But, I'm thinking....gosh, I have no brain left... I'm thinking they went to Hawaii in Aug. (cause that's when Glenn's party was) before he started his chemo trial...does that sound right?? Donelle Yes that is who is was Joe Sullivan.. Yes it must have been August. that is when you had Glenn's party.. Sounds right to me. Guest guest
Was the daughter young? Joe Sullivan had young kids at home, a son around 12 and others including a daughter. He was military or ex military, had been in great shape and knew as much as a doctor, probably more, he also has/had a website. He was in here all the time when I joined in the early summer of 2004 when mom found out she had a tumor. Joe Savage was here alot too, he started calling himself " the other Joe " to avoid confusion and look how they've confused us even now. So then Joe Sullivan said he was Beautiful Joe, ahahahhahaa, I loved them both. Sadly missed. ~Dianna Jolene Ehret wrote: There was Joe Sullivan...was that all the Joe's? Guest guest
Joe Sullivan passed away sometime early in month of August I think. His wife posted. Isn't he one who had the website and blog stuff. Wrote the journal sort of but I think he quite writing in like April or so. He was quite a bit younger than Joe Savage. Jolene Re: Re: Joe Savage Yep that sure does, and I know in Joe Savage's obit it mentions his daughter , I am 99.9 percent sure thats Joe Savage was the one that went to Hawaii , but now what ever did happen to Joe Sullivan???????????
