Hi all. I did a DMSA challenge test about 2 months ago. 400mg within 6

hours. I know huge mistake. Ever since the challenge test, I have had

numbness on the left side of my body, ( face, arm and lower leg). I

have experienced chronic fatigue off and on. For the last four days,

I can barely take care of my kids. At times, it feels like it is

difficult to talk. I have had all kinds of tests run and everything

comes back ok. My symptoms seem to be getting worse. Now, I am

wondering if the DMSA challenge test somehow cause me to have a stroke.

Since everything is on the left side. Any thoughts? I am at the point

of going to Duke University to see if they can help. Sheila

Yes, these symptoms were likely caused by the DMSA challenge test (too

high a dose of DMSA all at once, moving too many metals). There is a

section in " Amalgam Illness " about what to do after inappropriate

chelation (sorry I don't have time to look up the page number). Take

lots of antioxidants - vitamin C, vitamin E, antioxidant rich foods,

fresh vegetable juices, and start to get on the basic recommended

supplements, starting with Mg, Zn, omega 3 oils, and add from there.

A vitamin C IV would likely help, as long as you make absolutely sure

they don't put any glutathione in it. A doctor would be able to

evaluate the possibility of a stroke.
