Guest guest
I joined this group because I'm helping my FIL find his way through this process. I would like to ask if any members here are having the same problem that my FIL has. Before my FIL knew he had cancer he had a colonoscopy test. Up until the day of the test he had no pain. During the test he felt pain & tried to pull away. Since that day my FIL has suffered from a severe burning sensation coming from the rectum. He describes it as a burning ball of fire in his bottom. He has no pain other than the burning. He is certain that the pundendal nerve was damaged during the test resulting in a condition called Pundendal Nerve Entrapment. The burning becomes worse when sitting on upholstered furniture, standing or walking to far. He needs to lay down to find relief from the burning. Pain meds just take the edge off but do not completely eliminate the burn. Can anyone please tell me if this burning is to be expected from colon cancer or does it sound like something else?
