Guest guest
Hamman Rich Syndrome is also called Acute Interstitial Pneumonia (AIP) and was first described by doctors Hamman and Rich in 1935. Now some have used the term to describe IPF in general but it's more appropriately used to describe AIP from what I can find. What distinguishes AIP generally is a rapid onset. This is just one more complication in our understanding of our specific conditions and I'd suggest you ask the doctor directly why that classification and what does that mean different than any other interstitial lung disease. Back aches after exertion would be common. The main thing is to make sure your oxygen is maintained above 90% to give your muscles all the oxygen they need. Then just work through the back issues as you would without PF. Many of us got away from exercise and exertion so experience such pain. This is another reason we strongly recommend pulmonary rehab. For dry nose, first I'm assuming you are using a humidifier on your stationary oxygen equipment. If not, get one from your supplier. In addition many here have found AYR gels and Ocean Spray to be very helpful. Also, Peggy finds cutting the prongs on the cannula a bit to help as do softer cannulas sometimes. But I'd start with Ayr personally. > > Have you ever heard of this and do any of you have back aches after exhurtion? > > Any suggestions for dry nose? >
