She sounds like someone determined to break bridges rather than mend

them. I know I am far from the perfect mother, or MIL either, but I do

try and keep everyone happy as far as I can (without compromising my

own sanity that is!) eg. Tavya told me recently in no uncertain terms

that Avigayil (DD3, lives near Tel Aviv) feels unwelcome when she

phones home (usually cos she always phones during Neighbours!!) so I

have made it this year's resolution to phone her at a suitable time

for ME at least once a week and have a good old girlie natter.

Some mothers and mothers in law are so wrapped up in themselves they

can't see how they are alienating the whole family.
