Guest guest
Yesterday afternoon the annual Battle of Briton free air display took place. Planes from England, Europe and usually America take part. Every one on the Island may 'enjoy' it and all that is asked that people donate their loose change to the RAF benevolent fund. There were calls for it to be cancelled in light of the horrific events of the week but it went ahead and the 'fly boys' pulled out all the stops and gave a magnificent display apparently - I did not watch it DD2 hates the noise. Today the Island observed a 3 minute silence and the school said prayers and observed the silence but tonight some organization has just launch a 20 minute noisy and highly expensive firework display a step too far for me and I really, really wish they had cancelled it.
