Electric nerves

I have only recently started DMSA (now on round 3 of 3,5 days on and 3,5

off, so probably in dumping phase), started developing these funny nervous

pressure points in my (mostly my feet and hands), but also to lesser extent

in other joints as well.

Basically these points feels like a crossing between your funny bone in your

elbow and being pricked lightly with a heated needle, and they seem to be

interconnected, i.e. when stepping on the clutch with my left foot, it

created a light shooting pain that I would sometimes also feel at that point

in right hand, or knee, etc.

There is sometime also a lingering dull electric feeling (not pins and

needles or the " normal " (well by way of speaking while chelating) tingling)

in my feet, upper leg, underarm, face, for a couple of minutes.

This has been deteriorating for the past few days and is MOST ANNOYING and

slightly debilitating - you want to minimise walking in order not to trigger

it. It feels like my entire peripheral nervous system is inflamed or

irritated.

Anyone experienced this before, and any solutions to make it go away would

be very welcome please.

I have experienced these sensations, not with chelation but with spine

problems.

You might want to find an expert to evaluate your spine. I found one

physician specialist who was able to pin point problem areas, some

physiotherapists are good at this, and several really experienced

massage therapists who specialize in cranio sacral or myofascial

release techniques were able to find problem areas, and I know an

acupuncturist who has been very helpful. The goal would be to find

the problem areas and use gentle techniques to take pressure off of

the inflamed nerves.

You didn't mention what dose of DMSA you are using. You may want to

lower the dose so as not to generate much more inflammation.

In general, when I have electrical sensations, pins and needles type,

numbness and tingling, it takes several months for the symptoms to

gradually decrease until one day I notice they are not there anymore.

I think this is from the nerve/tissues being chelated and the mercury

and other metals being removed. I have much buring in my legs/arms

particularly around emf (electro magnetic fields)

I have that dull aching jab like pain a lot in my soles of my feet

since I have been chelating. It has been worse in the first few

months and again recently (6-7,50 month of chelation)

prescribed my gabapentin for nerve related pain and

this seems to have lessened these pins and needles.

I am currently on 20 mgs dmps every 3 hrs (4 at night) and 50 mgs ala

every 3 hrs (4 at night)

However i had to start very low, I think i started at 3-4 mgs of ALA

(end of February)and 4 mgs dmsa (end of November 2007). I went off

DMSA (switched to DMPS after i saw January 3-2008)

Good luck and keep chelating.
