When I had my wisdom teeth out in the late 80's (first time I was put under), I woke up from that an absolute basket case. I think they had trouble waking me up, and then I couldn't stop crying for a long time. They wanted me to leave the recovery room, and I didn't feel like I was ready to go. So that was a bad experience. Then when I had some female stuff done in 2006 at a local hospital and was put under, that stuff felt like it stayed with me for a long time afterwards, weeks even. I remember thinking like 2-3 weeks after the procedure, wondering if I should even be driving. Then when I had an upper GI, they gave me something called propofol (only time I asked what they were giving me), and that seemed much better. I did not feel like I had lingering effects from that. And when I had surgery last December, I didn't ask what they gave me, but I don't recall that being too bad either. These other procedures where done at a different hospital, so I'm not sure if they use different things, or have better anesthesiologists, because it was a much bigger and better hospital. But I have not had any problems with things done at this hospital, as compared to some of my other experiences. So I really don't know what is the cause of my different reactions.---------Jackie What I do know is that my husband has had 2 surgeries in recent years and each time his reaction to the anesthetic gets worse and there is an e x t r e m e l y long recovery period. My husband has been allergic to many things as long as I have known him. I suspect that he was exposed to mercury during about 10 years of contact lens solution use, when mercury was in the solutions, years of allergy shots, and possibly other exposures that I am not aware of. ----------Another thought guys. I'm sure your liver has to process these drugs, and maybe some of them go down different liver pathways, and depending on your liver status, may affect you differently. I have supplemented alot more in the last couple of years, so maybe that's partly why I handled some of these exposures better than before?-----------Jackie J or if they did > back in the early 80's? I've had a couple of operations and got worse > after each one - so I'm wondering if I had any mercury exposure from > them. ------------I think the older stuff is/was harsher than what they use now. That's what the upper GI doc told me, when I told him about my reaction to my wisdom teeth extractions. He told me the propofol was newer and much better, and it certainly seemed to be. But I have no idea if it used to have mercury in it or not. It would probably be like the vaccines, if it was a multi-dose item, then it may have been preserved with thimerosol.----------Jackie > > Val >

Since we can't detox mercury well, how would we detox all the drugs/anastetic? just a thought

At the time I had this done, I had had some old amalgams replaced with new amalgam within a couple years of this, was working full time and going to night school, so under alot of stress, and had started to develop allergies, so was eating lots of OTC stuff and advil. So I'm sure my liver wasn't in the best shape back then, and I probably wasn't eating very well and not taking any supplements either. So the liver angle could have played a role. But it could have also been the actual drug, or like you said, who knows what was in it back then. But my liver was over-taxed back then, so I'm sure that didn't help matters either. We'll probably never know. Jackie
Guest guest
Hi Val For the last 15 years I have been doing Holotropic Breathwork, because I felt it really helps me and I'm also very comfortable with the therapist. BTW , looking back, I went to see her every time my adrenals packed up, without knowing anything about the adrenals then. Every session always felt like a huge relief. Feeling calm and more in control afterwards. Anyway, I recall the therapist telling me the following. After a session of breathing, if the client walks out of the room to use the bathroom and then comes back into the room, the client can actually distinctly " smell " the anaesthesia that they breathed out from their last surgery. You might want to have a look at this discipline. Here is a link of the lady I see in Cape Town. You might find someone in your area doing Holotropic Breathwork .. http://www.livingnetwork.co.za/files/erickas-breathwork.pdf Kai > > > > > Does anybody know if they put mercury in anasthesia > > > What I do know is that my husband has had 2 surgeries in recent years > and each time his reaction to the anesthetic gets worse and there is > an e x t r e m e l y long recovery period.
