with regard to molybdenum (on the basic supps list)the only one I can

find is molybdenum picolinate 1mg - could someone confirm this is the

one I need to get.

----------Yes. 1mg = 1000mcg. I take Thorne brand molybdenum picolinate,

which comes in this dosage per capsule, 60 caps per bottle.-------Jackie

Also on the list is chromium picolinate 200mcg with

every meal - I have been told that this is only necessary if you have a

hypoglycemic problem - is this correct?.

----------I believe it is good for blood sugar metabolism, whether it is high

or low (someone correct me if I'm wrong.) But yes, you are correct, that it is

definitely recommended for hypoglycemia. If you blood sugar stays pretty

stable, then no, you probably don't need this. But this is a common problem

among toxic folks, so that's why it is recommended. You could always try it at

some point, and see if it helps. If not, then drop it. ------------Jackie

I have also just read that the selenium binds to mercury and I can not

find any that is selenomethionine - does this also bind to mercury -

and is it safe? As in the book I can't see anywhere on all the

different supp lists where it mentions selenium.

---------Read what Andy says about selenium on page 162 of AI. It is a

supplement that people have to experiment with and customize, and that there is

a smaller window between supplemental dosages and toxicity, so I think he is

being conservative/careful in not recommending it to everyone on his short

lists. But many of us do take it, including myself. It is also supposed to

help with converting T4 to T3, so is good for the thryoid also.

You can't find selenomethionine? You're in the UK right? Are you looking in

HFS or online? I don't know where you order supps from, but I could give you

links to US online companies. Maybe others from the UK can help.------Jackie

As I am unable to work i am on a limited budget - what on the basic

supp list would I be able to omit safely.

--------Different people have different needs, and the supplement thing ends

up being alot of trial and error for the individual, as we can't predict exactly

what each person will need and tolerate.

Andy's shorter list for a really restricted budget is on page 134 of AI. I

would work on that. His *top four* as I like to call it, is Vit C, Vit E, zinc,

and magnesium. He lists these as *very important* supplements on page 238 of

HTI, so I would say those are a must.

I think many of us slowly add or try something new as time goes on, as we

learn more and try to address specific problems. You don't have to try

everything all at once. Good luck--------Jackie
