Cortef is usually split in 3-4 doses per day, and the same can be done with ACE. Make sure that the last doses are at 4 pm or earlier so that they don't interfere with sleep. > But I'm not sure if it's the Cortef & ACE making me feel like I'm at > the bottom of a well and don't want to come up I've been taking cortef for a long time. The only times I feel like I am at the bottom of a well are late in the evening, when there is little cortisol left in my body, AND, there is some stress going on in my life, AND I am often coming down with some virus. or if I feel like I'm at > the bottom of a well because there's just a serious lot of hard stuff > going on in my life right now and it's finally getting to me. > It is quite possible that you need way more cortef than you are taking considering the extra stress that you are under. Good thing you plan to see at the end of the month, because she can sort that out. Someone like me, who doesn't have all of your information, can only guess over the internet. > <snip> > And maybe it's the drugs too? Are there psychological side effects to > any of these adrenal helpers? The dose of Cortef is so low that the only thing that 'I think' it could be doing is giving you a lift. If you are only taking one dose per day, then you might find a let down later in the day when there is little drug left in your body. I didn't see anything on the basic drug > websites... > The basic drug websites give side effects for pharmacological doses of Cortef, which are doses way higher than the physiological doses that we recommend.
