Guest guest
Today Gabe has been running around saying things like, " S! Shoes! S! Shoes! M! Moon! P! Poo-poo! " I am fairly certain that counts as knowledge beyond what one would expect at his chronological age. (www.hyperlexia.org) And I have absolutely no idea where he picked up shoes or poo-poo. Moon, we saw a picture of an M with a moon next to it, and he pointed and said " Moon! " and I said that's right, and then he said M, which is one of the letters I already knew he could identify. I didn't think he knew P, tho, because any letter he can't identify is P. So now I am swinging back to thinking that I do indeed have another spectrum child on my hands, although Gabe's issues are obviously quite mild (relatively speaking) and I'm confident we can handle them and he will do very well. Would epilepsy qualify him for sped pre-school I wonder? If he's an Aspie I doubt we'll get the dx for some time...I still have to call the neuro. Gah!!! -Sara. Wife to Matt SAHM to (3.5, autism) Gabe (23.5 mos, speech delay) and 'Punkin' due soon!
