Guest guest
Thanks Jackie, I did do hair analysis and met one of the counting rules that would indicate I am mercury toxic. I had three amalgams removed about a year ago. I did the hair analysis before the amalgams were removed. > > I have MS and mercury toxicity. > > ---------Have you done a hair test? How do you know you are mercury toxic?--------Jackie > > > > Today I took a total of 50mg in divided doses for the first time. > > -------Could you tell us the exact dosage and timing? i.e. 12.5mg every 4 hours for 4 doses? The dosage and timing is important. We usually recommend people start at 12.5mg per dose, but some have found that to be too high for them, and need to go lower.--- ------Jackie > > > > My brain feels like it cannot think. I don't recall people mentioning vaginal burning. Or is it more like itching, like you'd get with a vaginal yeast infection? DMSA can cause yeast to flare up, so that is a possibility.--------Jackie > > > > I'm wondering if maybe I'm someone who can't tolerate it, and should > stop. > > ---------If side effects are too much for you, then yes you should stop. It probably just means that the dosage is too high for you, and you should try it again at a lower dose. And some people feel better with more frequent dosing, like every 3 hours, instead of 4. So you need to do some experimenting in the beginning, to find the correct dosage and timing that is right for you. > > Also, are you on the recommended supplements? This can make a difference in how you tolerate chelation. And many of us need adrenal and thyroid and other hormone support too. > > And are you sure all amalgam is out of your mouth? You should never chelate with amalgam still in, and people do feel worse when they do so. Some people have amalgam hiding under crowns or it root canals. > > So there are many possibilities here, so we need more info from you. But there are some people that don't tolerate DMSA well, but I don't think it's that many. It's usually dosage related.---------- Jackie > > > > What types of things do people usually go through when on DMSA. > > ----------I believe this varies widely. When the dosage is right, some people feel much better while on a round of chelation, or at least side effects are kept to a minimum. That is our goal is to find the dosage that we feel best at, or at least keep side effects to a tolerable level. Most people will have some side effects at the end of the round, for a day or so.---------Jackie > > > > Thank you for any answers you may be able to provide. > > > > > > > >
Guest guest
A doctor once told me, relating to drug reactions good or bad... " anything is possible " . With mercury toxicity, double that. With MS also, triple that. I find even 6mg DMSA every 3 hours, or 4 hours, to be a sledgehammer dose. Even after 9 rounds. I'm considering going all the way down to 1mg and just doing that constantly like a 4 hour vitamin or something. While we tend to think of dmsa as just a metal chelator, it does other stuff, mostly understudied or unknown. In trout and rats it has various affects on brain neurotransmitters. It has interactions with the immune system. While everyone says it doesn't cross the blood brain barrier, I don't buy it. It sure feels like it to me. I know what a sudden boost in serotonin feels like from my many psych meds in the past. To me, DMSA does the exact same thing. I swear it feels like a serotonin med and a benzodiazepine tranquilizer at the same time. The arguments that it does not cross the blood brain barrier are based on assumptions that the blood brain barrier has not been compromised. I say, purely opinion, that with some of us the barrier has indeed been compromised, likely by the mercury molecule itself, or lead maybe, or some hidden microscopic infection or parasites. Anything is possible. Next time, just go real low on the dose. I am considering, and you might have to at some point, going with DMPS instead. People seem to do better with it, in general. Mileage varies of course. > > I have MS and mercury toxicity. Today I took a total of 50mg in divided > doses for the first time. My brain feels like it cannot think.
