It is safe to miss a dose by an hour and continue the round (both the ALA and DMSA). If the dose is later than an hour, then the round should be stopped. (1h late for ALA would be a 4 h interval, and 1 h late for DMSA would be a 5h interval). In this case it would be ok to drop the ALA and continue with DMSA, as long as it isn't more than 5 h late. If the missed dose was taken by mistake it's the same as continuing the round (it's too late to correct anything by stopping). I hope my explanation is clear enough to understand.
