Guest guest
First of all, let me say that I know for a fact that the MMR vaccine did NOT cause Boone's autism. He's never had an MMR vaccine. I object to vaccines for medical reasons. Specifically, the presence of Henoch-Schonlein purpura in my family. I recently forced the school system to request a functional behavior analysis on Boone. Due to their actions, I had some leverage including violations of federal law regarding school lunches, forgery of an IEP and other problems such as physical restraint. The school principal called several weeks ago to inform me that our religious waiver for immunizations was not vaild because we are Catholic. I told her she was mistaken. Nevertheless, she continued to call and harass me over this issue for several weeks. Each time I told her she was mistaken. This morning at 9 a.m., she called to tell me that if I didn't have Boone immunized or a medical waiver in her office by noon, he would be removed from the school. I asked if she really felt this was worth a lawsuit. I am not an idiot and I know my rights. I do not think it is a coincidence that they chose to pull this stunt on a Wednesday. They know I am on deadline. I called several lawyers, all of whom were in court this morning. I called my pediatrician's office to explain the crisis and they faxed a medical waiver to the school. Then the principal called to tell me she received the medical waiver and everything was okay. " And by the way, " she said. " You were right. I just found out that it doesn't matter what your religion is, as long as you object to vaccines a religious waiver is okay. " I was mislead, " she said. WTF??? " Just a little harassment from the administration for kicks? " I asked. She just laughed and apologized. Bastards. The last time I was a troublemaker over the restraint issue, they threatened to put me in jail because my son, who had an active kidney disease, (crescentic henoch schonlein purpura nephritis with nephrotic syndrome) had missed too much school. There is a new school superintendent. I think he needs to know what's happening. I need to see where he stands as well.
