Guest guest
I'm currently on my 4th round of DMPS, 10mg every 6 hours. I only just started chelation about 2 weeks ago. Although I've had many years of depression/dysthymia, mood swings, and anxiety, I felt truly significant, upwards improvement during, and esp. after, amalgam removal. (I was also taking some good supplements for mood/brain health at the time, and they certainly helped a good deal, but I *know* they were only a part of it, as I've taken similar stuff in the past and NEVER had improvement like that). I started getting my 8 amalgams out around mid-May, and completed the process in early July. During that time, there was a gradual, but noticeable improvement in my aforementioned brain problems... depression/dysthymia improved markedly, and even in the last few weeks, had felt great... no more huge, frequent mood swings! (only *mild* fluctuations)... no more occasional " panic " type feelings, and much less anxiety in general. The change was rather remarkable, and had not felt that much progress in MANY, many years. It was clear to me: this was the *REAL DEAL*. Mercury had apparently been a big part of my problem, and now I was starting to change that. Started chelation about 2 weeks ago, and mood was still good. By the 3rd round, mood had dropped down a notch, but was still ok. But now on the 4th round... yesterday, my mood plummeted during the day, and remains low today (moderately depressed). I haven't felt depressed in quite a while now... maybe a couple months. I feel very disappointed b/c I thought the change was real, and lasting -- the start of something new. But now I'm scared that I'm reverting back to the old ways. I know there are supposed to be up's and down's while chelating. So am not sure if what I'm now experiencing is normal, and just par for the course -- or not? If people were to tell me their own experiences, or what they know... if this is just one of those bumps in the road, but that things will probably get back on track later, I would feel much better about this... much more able to " get through it " ... Also, does anyone know why someone would feel depressed while chelating if DMPS doesn't cross the BBB? Is it b/c DMPS affects *other* parts of the body (other than the brain) that can, in an indirect sort of way, cause depression -- and if so, any ideas how it can do that, mechanistically? Any advice appreciated (and needed!). Thanks.
Guest guest
-Hi Petshopgirl.. I had a similar thing happen. I had beat depression about 6 years ago.. I was still very very sick but the depression had stayed away .. THen after my first return to frequent dose of just DMSA my depression came back big time.. I went back to 5 HTP and stayed on it for about five months. These last two months I have been chelating and have not had to take 5 HTP at all and it has stayed away IT also could have stayed away because my gut is generally alot better with added choline from lecithin and phosphytidal choline which is good also for depression, page 161 of AI Did you know that alot / most I think of our serotonin is actually made in our gut??? SO that makes sense in my case that as my gut was bad I just needed more support ... Not too sure as with DMSA detox happens through the kidneys so does that mean our livers do not work any harder at all during rounds..?? so why it got worse with frequent dose using DMSA ,,, I dont understand the whys ,,I just kwow it did happen to me.. You should not worry.. I know it feels just awful.. Are you taking anything.. 5HTP ?? phoshatidylcholine?? Other things that helped you before>>???
