They seem to be a pretty good balance between quality, purity and price. I also use Jarrow for a few things--I especially like their B-Right Complex. I get most of my stuff from iHerb since it's easy and cheaper (but it takes advance planning to be able to order enough stuff at once to get the discount or free shipping). Barlean's for flax oil. New Chapter All-Flora probiotics (they're dairy free). These I get from the HFS because I like to buy my refrigerated stuff locally. Then there are a bunch of products that seem to be specialized or hard to get. Lithium Orotate and DMSA from VRP. ALA from Kirkman. ACE from Thorne (which you can get from N.E.E.D.S. if you don't have a practitioner who sells Thorne). I think I also got my molybdenum from needs ( Laboratories brand). Some of it's trial and error. On my supplement schedule I keep track of when I change brands, just in case a new one doesn't agree with me, or some other problem pops up. In fact, I never throw away the bottle of an old brand until I'm buying the 2nd bottle of the replacement brand. I do have a lot of reaction problems though, so I often need to refer back to see what ingredients changed. Sometimes I try a different/cheaper brand and then find that I think I did better on the previous brand. This happened just recently with milk thistle. I'm okay with using up the cheaper brand but then I'll revert to the one I had had better success with. I expect we all have wished there was some simple, easy, instant solution to the supplement question, but it's just so variable for every person. Since even a minimalist routine involves a number of bottles, you will almost certainly need to come up with a way to pre-dispense a few days' worth at a time. What I use for this is those screw-on stacking containers. If you go to a 's store, in their bead section they sell these containers in 3 sizes (much more cheaply than the pharmacy does). I find the middle size works well. Since these aren't manufactured for pills, I washed mine very well before using them. I have four " stacks " with the lids labeled Morning, Midday, Evening and Bedtime. Then I just take the container off the bottom of the appropriate stack. It works really well for me. If I'm not going to be home, I just take a container with me (if you get enough to have a week's worth in each stack, you'll have some extra lids). Guest guest
This is very reasonable. Most things are commodities, it is only the herbal extracts and glandulars where there is some brand sensitivity. Chemically sensitive people may react to one brand or another for obscure reasons (e. g. maybe the janitor wears a lot of perfume when she cleans the factory at night) but most people really just need something reasonable, withoiut too much garbage in the filler, that is cheap. NOW is one of the brands that really does fit that description. Also their echinacea works fine, not sure about their other herbals. For sorting, I find the 4 compartment per day weekly pill minder trays such as can be found at most drugstores (distributed by apex medical - http://www.apexmedical.com/ products/detail/256 - this kind of thing, avoid the 'flap top' style ones and get the ones where the day's box can be taken out of a tray) work well though you may need more than one. Most drugstores can get you this kind of thing if you ask. Andy > Myself, I use a lot of NOW brand. They seem to be a pretty good > balance between quality, purity and price.
