Re: L-histidine as a chelator for nickel?

As someone with very high nickel from their hair test( 5.6 ìg/g) I

was particularly interested in the following links referring to

Histidine and Nickel chelation.

However, I was never much good at chemistry at school and trying to

determine whether or not the following research/material is

good/relevant is difficult for me.

1. http://www.pubmedcentral.nih.gov/picrender.fcgi?

artid=1299498 & blobtype=pdf

2. http://www.arkat-usa.org/get-file/23140/

3. http://www.pubmedcentral.nih.gov/picrender.fcgi?

artid=1300908 & blobtype=pdf

4. http://www.prostate-massage-and-health.com/Chronic-

Prostatitis.html

((( BTW, I'm just coming up to having completed 4 rounds of DMSA (and

later moving on to ALA), and will continue to chelate as though

mercury is the underlying cause - so far so good. Have also been

trying steam room and sauna (since sweating is supposed to be very

good for nickel chelation), but even 10 minutes in the steam room is

enough to give me a really bad head later. )))

Comments appreciated.

thanks, .

This would be considered off-topic as none of it in mentioned or verified by

Andy.

Dr Hulda says that Nickel is chelated by histidine, and she notes that

nickel accumulates in the prostate (and nickel also causes premature

balding).

I just thought I'd mention it as you mentioned protatitis. Presumably if she

is right the clearing of nickel could clear the protatistis.

I had wanted to use histidine as a supplements and see if it benefitted me.

But I was worried that it may be a chelator and since I could not find the

half-life of it anywhere on the internet I decided not to persue it.

Does anybody know the half-life?

Thanks,

Dean
