I know how u feel about meds..all my dr's wanted to keep keep me on zanax & i refused it & when my dr wanted to up the amitriptylin & told him no 10mg is more than enough to help me sleep & for pain & even though its an antidepressant its ok..10mg is more than enough at least for me.. Dot/42/UIP10/08/SaTx Subject: AcetylcysteinTo: Breathe-Support Date: Friday, September 11, 2009, 2:52 PM I have been a member of the group for many months, but don't communicate. I read so I can learn more about IPF.( I also have Heart failure and other problems, including vision )I have agreed to use acetylstein to help with the breathing. Mine is in liquid form, and as you stated it comes in the bottle with the rubber cap. I open mine & use a medicine dropper to measure the perscribed # of cc's, and then mix it in a little cola. Doesn't taste so bad that way. It does help to cut thru the mucous. I live alone and don't want to use steroids or the chemo pills the doc wanted me to try. I seem to be doing well, so why try more medicines at this time.God Bless all & thanks for the education you are all providing me about the disease.
