Guest guest
---Sunshine I'm curious- how does Dr P treat you? With Armour? Does he actually prescribe now? Does he answer your emails? Does he still recommend Nutrimeds? He really is a lovely man and I do respect him enormously but I had such a dissapointing experience with him myself. I am curious as to how he practices these days. Guest guest
I also had a similar experience with Barry Peatfield. I agree entirely, he's a charming, thoughtful and courageous man, but I made no progress with adrenal support and now I think my adrenal issues are caused by mercury and that getting rid of the mercury is the key to sorting them out. After a year of chelation I do now have a fairly normal body temperature which is a big improvement (it used to be low) and an indication that endocrine problems are slowly sorting themselves out. I used to take part in a news group of people using physiological doses of prednisolone to counteract low cortisol levels, but the group disbanded in an atmosphere of disillusion. It seems that supplementing thyroid and adrenals can help some people, and that in particular it helps if you have issues with allergies, but that it is not a long term solution to CFS particularly if the underlying cause is mercury. Guest guest
Hi My adrenals are screwed, and they need support before any serious thyroid support can be introduced, so I have been working on building up the support on those with ACE(as well as all the usual adrenal supplements like vits B/C etc.) It has taken me 4 months to gradually build my ACE dose up to 1000mg, taken at breakfast and finally just now, after 4 months, are my temps finally stabilising. Initially Ace at 100mg per day doses caused me many strange unbearable symptoms, so I started at 25mg and built up by 50mg every 7-10 days. Any faster and I just got sick. My blood pressure has also stopping falling when I stand up. Can't rememeber what its called, but a sure sign of adrenal fatigue when blood pressure falls upon standing up. It does not anymore….i am overjoyed at this success…..i did question what I was doing over those 4 months of nothing much happening. Happy I stuck with it. Now that my adrenals are coming on line, next step will be thyroid support, I guess Armour, but this adrenals coming on line has only just happened in the last 10 days, and I only emailed Dr P on Tuesday. His replies are very slow and are not one of his strong points, in fact its rubbish…but he does reply eventually. Sometimes I call his secretary and she tells me what he has replied. I believe he hand writes the replies to the emails and the secretary types them and sends them out…which is why it takes so bloody long. Even so, he is a nice old man, I have read 5 adrenal/thyroid books now, including his, I approve of the way he does it and will go with the flow. Not sure why, but he refused payment from me for my appointment, he said it was nice to meet someone so incharge of their health and sent my money back. Most unusual! I am more than capable of educating myself, but its very nice to have the guiding hand from an expert….even if his emailed replies are slow, he hasn't cost me a penny yet. Having my adrenals coming on line is making big improvements in my health and just shows how important it is. Now I know why everyone says its so important. He did say he immediately puts some people on HC…depends on the person. I did not need that, I might do, but first it's the ACE. He still recommends Nutrimeds, although I take the stuff people on Yahoo FDC recommend…Nutri-something-can't-remember-the-name. Strangely most of the supplements I take, which I got from reading Amalgam Illness, are the same as his supplements that he recommends. I have a long list of supplements that I take, about 20 at last count, including kelp and they really help me stay in ship-shape. They are almost exactly what he recommends in his book. " Thanks for your upbeat email. So now you add in the thyroid supplementation. Let's start with Nutri Thyroid - 2 a day for a week, then 4 a day for 2 weeks, and then report again. " Nutri Thyroid is a " thyroid glandular " from bovine scources. Sunshine
