Guest guest
When I had my hair test it indicated an adrenal problem. When I had the 4x/day saliva test it showed low cortisol. Last February I finally figured out a form to use that let me start ramping up on the supplements with good consistency. Lately, I have noticed that I am doing a little bit more. I can't say that I " feel " like I have any energy, but I am getting more done without a corresponding increase in exhaustion. Which I take as a good sign. I had read that supplements take 3-6 months before you start noticing any real benefits. My experience seems to support this, though I'll confess that it's hard to maintain the routine without the results. On 4/18 I started taking ACE, Thorne brand, which I had split into 25mg caps. After a few days on the 1/2 dose ACE I noticed that I didn't need a nap - not that I was working through it but that I didn't *need* it. The afternoon collapse between 2 and 4 has been a regular feature of my life for quite some time, so this was really notable. I also felt more mental energy, as though my interest in life were re-awakening. After a week, I increased to 50mg on 4/25, expecting things would continue or improve. Instead, I feel more physically tired and mentally immobilized (the afternoon collapse has not returned, however). I'm continuing to work the plan, but I'm wondering what's going on. I mean, it's not very likely that 25mg was my target dose, is it? Even though I felt better at that dose? Any ideas or suggestions (or encouragement)? Guest guest
We use Allergy Research brand which is 250mg of cortex. I am not sure if what your on is enough which might be why your getting slow results. I noticed within a day of taking adrenal cortex..I was calmer, less anxiety..same with dd..within two days. In fact, if she misses a dose..I can tell... How low was the cortisol on the test? Also after crash is associated more with hypothyroid. Adrenal support helps the thyroid, but it may not correct how you feel entirely if the thyroid is a problem too. Usually when we see the wonderful adrenal cortex effects wear off, it means you need more of it. You can try going back to 25mg just to be sure, but if you don't see the good result..then you need to continue with the increase. > > When I had my hair test it indicated an adrenal problem. Guest guest
, since I'm about to start on ACE, I'm curious as to how often you were taking the 25mg and at what time of day? Were you low all day long? Whacky cortisol like higher at night? Mine was generally lower all day long, most significantly in the morning, though it started higher in the morning and took the " normal " slide down through the day, so they seem to be functioning properly, but not sufficiently. : Donna > wrote: On 4/18 I started taking ACE, Thorne brand, which I had split into >25mg caps. Guest guest
Same happened to me with ACE (and my saliva tests came up very low too, especially in the morning.) I was told by Dr. Peatfield to start ACE low and only increase the ace dose slowly every 7-10 days. I had target doses of 200mg….but no change…so next target was 500mg…next 750mg…next 900mg. I'm at 1000mg at breakfast now and its working:-) I got strange symptoms at 100mg. so I started at 25mg and gradually built up to 1000mg over 4 months. At first increasing the dose too much made me ill and I had to back down again, but I went from 500mg to 1000mg in 4 weeks at the end. But at the start I had to go real slow. Only now, after 4 months and at 1000mg ACE are my adrenals are coming on line. Temps are stable and blood pressure does not drop on standing up. Feeling better too. I suggest low and slow…it worked for me eventually. Sunshine > > When I had my hair test it indicated an adrenal problem.
