Guest guest
-A good question-- how much is too much.?. I have so far been afraid of taking too much.. I do not want to be one of those who end up in the hospital and the doctor finds out I have been taking huge amounts of something.. I have already had a similar experience .. funny now looking back but embarassing particularly when I was sooo sick and felt at their mercy I had been admitted to hospital on the assumption that they were going to do tests , I sat around for several days. and then another several more days.. What was happening.? Finally they brought in a bunch of interns to check me out. The practicing MD asked them about my orangey coloured eyes.. I had never noticed it.. Well he got them all to give their opinion , then gave them his diagnoses. In my first years of being ill in the 70s , having had no diagnoses I had treid alot of different diets , and cures. In one I had been juicing always with half carrot juice--- really not that much-- maybe a couple of small glasses a day for cannot remember how long.. Well this had apparently turned me a bit orange.. The next day they brought in the psychiatritrist and that was all they offered... how maddening.. So I have often gone on high doses.. FOr example manganese. At my worst I need at least 75 to 100 mg a day. Then I would go back down to 25 , at the most 50 mg a day for several months. In the end I have always had to go back up at some point. Like this month when I had a crisis.. the higher manganese helped with my liver.. I suppose there are some supplements which are water soluble . In that case do we need to never worry about too high doses/??? sorry do not know the answer.. Guest guest
I second this question. I think Andy has indicated that zinc should be reduced while on ALA. I've just started DMSA and find I need even more molybdenum (previously 900 mcg/day but somewhere I believe Andy has recommended 1000-3000 mcg/day) to alleviate a body odor problem (apparently due to insufficient phase-two sulfation), that gets worse on DMSA. > > It seems to me that supplementation needs must vary drastically on > round vs off round. > > Has there been any guidance or discussion on the issue of how, if at > all, to adjust supplementation off-round?
