Guest guest
I am happy about the progress my son has made cognitively with DMSA, but worried about the pains he is experiencing. He still complaining about his feet and he has some new self-injuries (bruises, scratches) that I think happened last night while dad was watching him and I was grocery shopping. He attempts to ease his pain by jumping to his knees, pounding his fists on things, and gets bruises and scratches from this. I have been giving him a citrate form cal/mag in the past week and a half with meals because I figured if he was getting rid of lead, he would need the calcium. (he's also GFCF) He is eating less and has gotten quite skinny in the last week or so, I attribute this to his body maybe wanting to fast a bit with the detox going on. I should also mention that he developed quite a yeast rash on his butt that I noticed Monday. When these problems first started (around two weeks ago), Andy suggested I lower the DMSA dose and give extra Vit E and Omega 3s. I did that, but I think I should have held-off on round 3 because we ended up stopping in the middle of the round because he just couldn't handle it (started this past Sunday). We just got results from a hair test back yesterday and his cal/mag levels were high, sodium/potassium low, and looks like he could use selenium and lithium, so I started giving selenium yesterday (which I had, but he previously wouldn't tolerate). I am thinking about ordering lithium orotate, what do you think? I think there are some signs of hypoglycemia and hypothyroid. I am going to add chromium today (which he wouldn't tolerate previously). The Vit K group has got me thinking about the Cal/Mag/Phos balance because his phosphorus is somewhat low and cal/mag is high. They suggested stopping the cal/mag, so I have. Maybe I am panicking too much, but his excessive need to work his muscles and pound his hands and feet has me worried. He has been getting really angry at his brother for getting off the trampoline after jumping for awhile, he wants to jump and jump and jump and comes in all red-faced and angry - fighting with his brother. Hopefully today is better, I will give an update later on. Is there anything else I could be doing to help? Hi So sorry to hear about your son still struggling with his feet. Have you mentioned how old he is ? How long has he taken DMSA and how many mg's Must be so hard/frustrating as a parent to figure out how he feels as he cannot express it verbally.Wishing you strength through all this.
