Guest guest
Hi Bernadette - I don't know where you live, but here in Calif. you can get 'in-home service'. You have to apply and be found needing the help and then the will award you 4+ hours a week for personal cleaning, house cleaning, laundry, shopping. You may need to pay a bit, depending on your total family income. The good part is that you get the help...and your family has some respite. Copied this from the SS website: In California - Needs Assessment An evaluation that measures an individual's ability to complete activities of daily living (dressing, toileting, bathing, eating, respiration, getting around in the house) and instrumental activities of daily living (housekeeping, shopping, taking medication, meal preparation, managing finances, and getting around out of the house). The needs assessment determines an individual’s level of need for the In Home Supportive Services Program. Hope that this helps some, or at least points you in a different direction.
