Guest guest
When I rec'd mine they sent me home with a little card to carry, it's a med alert and said I would also need to show if I was flying....which, when I went to Hawaii, I did not show and didn't set any alarms off...... Guest guest
I just flew to Atlanta a few weeks ago, and didn't have any trouble with the port-a-cath. I never gave it a thought. Janet Thanks everyone for replying. However having many unbelievable experiences in the past I try to plan everything meticulously. I just wrote on another group about the time we crossed on a ferry from France to UK in the days when there were no pet passports and was illegal to take a dog to the UK. (yes they do exist here now). Another passenger spotted a box in the back of my car which had the word DOG on it. When the ferry docked, 11 oclock at night, 500 fractious passenges were stopped from getting off and we were confronted by the sight of 20 police, customs and animal inspectors bearing down on us sitting in our car waiting to drive off! There was of course no dog in the box but we were detained in custody for 3 very unpleasant hours. Today we got an official letter from the hospital stating tht Mikes PortCath is part metal. I will get that translated into German tomorrow. Crazy world! in Spain > I think that part of the Porta Cath is metal, has anyone had any problems at > the airport and > the metal detectors? > > Chris > > > > Chris...if you have one that is titanium (I think) metal, you need to tell > them or have a note from dr. but Glenn's is some kind of plastic composite. > > Lots of hugs and prayers, Donelle > Caregiver to Glenn > > >
